Got an idea that could make a difference in your part of the borough? Waltham Forest Council has opened applications for community ward funding, and residents and local organisations can now apply for money to deliver local initiatives, projects or improvements that benefit their area.

How much is available?

Each ward's pot is based on its resident population and geographical size. Wards with three councillors have £10,000, while wards with two councillors have £6,660.

When can I apply?

Funding opened on Tuesday 1 September. This year there is no deadline, so you can apply at any point during the year, as long as the ward you are applying in still has funding available.

All projects funded in this round must be completed by Tuesday 31 August 2027.

Who decides?

Your ward councillors choose which projects they would like to fund, and how much each one receives.

How do I apply?

The council has published Community Ward Funding 2026 to 27 applicant guidance, and applications are made through an online form on the council's website.
